The Chinese definition of health is “all parts of the body are functioning normally.” Acupuncture is concerned with restoring proper energy flow or life force called “Qi” (Chi) to the various organs, glands, and tissues of the body on the premise that most diseases are the result of malfunction due to disrupted energies.
Interruption of energy flow can occur on various “points” on an acupuncture channel, called meridians, or along the spinal column where vertebrae may become misaligned resulting in compressed nerves.
Acupuncture is performed by stimulating the appropriate “points” through various methods. The most common method and the one found to be the most effective in our office is electro-acupuncture. Below are the different types of acupuncture we use.
